Dental & Oral Health Faculty Development Programs

  • Dental Faculty Loan Repayment Program (DFLRP) 

    Supports dental training programs in recruiting and retaining full-time dental and dental hygiene faculty through loan repayment assistance.

  • Primary Care Dental Faculty Development Center Program (PCDFD)

    Establishes a national resource and training hub to strengthen primary care dental faculty development, leadership, and community-focused oral health initiatives.

Medical Education Programs

  • Medical School Education Program (MSE)

    Supports public medical schools in states with projected primary care shortages to expand or enhance training or future physicians.

Nursing Workforce Programs

  • Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP)

    Provides low-interest loans and loan cancellation opportunities to increase the number of qualified nursing faculty nationwide.

  • Nursing Workforce Diversity Program (NWD)

    Expands nursing education opportunities for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds to help diversify the nursing workforce.

Scholarships and Loan Support Programs

  • Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS)

    Provides funding to health professions schools to offer scholarships that support students from disadvantaged backgrounds in completing health workforce training programs.

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and its Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW) provide funding to support various health workforce activities, including training and education, partnerships with community-based organizations, and loan repayment for healthcare workers.
